Hello! It's Nice to Be Here.

Hello! I am an American living in Italy. I have been teaching English to children and adults since 2001. In this blog I would like to talk about the obstacles that an English language learner faces...and propose some solutions to these difficulties.

I have been living in Italy since the year 2000, and I immediately saw that it was not going to be possible to work in my own field (accounting), because I would have had to learn everything all over again (the laws and accounting methods in Italy are completely different). I loves to work (I have been working since I was 14) so I decided to create a new profession for myself!

Several people suggested that I teach English. I tried it...and I discovered that teaching is one of my passions! Isn’t that strange? At 40 I learned something about myself that I hadn't realized before...well, maybe I realized it partially, but not fully.

More than 7 years have passed since the beginning of my adventures in teaching English as a foreign language, and I very much want to share my experiences & discoveries with others, whether students or teachers.
