About me (Please describe yourself or your company):
Raymond Bevilacqua was born in the Emerald City of Seattle (1954) in Washington State located on the west coast of the United States. He graduated from Central Washington University with two Bachelor’s Degrees in Spanish Language Teaching and Mathematics, and began teaching in 1995. At the beginning of the new millennium he moved to Madrid in order to complete his Masters Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. His Masters Thesis was a comparative study of American English and Castilian Spanish phonetics. He has been living in Madrid ever since he completed his Masters in 2001.
Spain and its people, culture, food and way of life, have completely changed Raymond’s life as he once knew it when living in the Seattle area. Many people, including some of his friends from the U.S., refer to him as “Ramón” because he feels at home in Spain. He adopted this name while studying Spanish at the university.
Today, Raymond is enjoying his own self-made business as an English Language Consultant and Teacher. His success has carried him to possibilities which he had never dreamed of before. He has a very impressive list of students in Madrid, some of whom have been working with him now for more than five years.
His long list of remarkable accomplishments outside of Spain include working as a software engineer at the Boeing Company, university credential’s evaluator, probate estate administrator, commercial real estate appraiser, Mathematics and Spanish Language teacher, produce department manager, and restaurant cook.
Raymond has also enjoyed many leisurely undertakings which include performing as an amateur secondary actor in an opera and short plays, playing musical instruments (piano, organ, clarinet, guitar, ukulele, and accordion), singing in public, performing public piano concerts, giving seminars and presentations, building his own business Website, dining in restaurants as a hobby, collecting wines, and traveling throughout Europe. Raymond claims that he has still not accomplished his entire long list of goals that he has established for himself.

Teaching LISTENING and SPEAKING skills to BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS

What do you think are the best strategies for teaching listening and speaking skills to business professionals who want to converse with others over a wide range of different topics?

Do you have any suggestions that highly stimulate students to participate in conversation, and which give them the satisfaction that they have learned something new?
